What Are Classic Lash Extensions?

Classic lash extensions are the foundation of professional lash artistry — clean, elegant, and timeless. Applied on a strict 1:1 ratio (one extension per natural lash), they enhance length and definition without adding bulk. The result is a polished, natural-looking lash line that opens up the eye and complements any client's features. These individual lashes can also be used by advanced technicians to handcraft their own volume fans.

Classic extensions are ideal for clients who prefer a natural, understated look or those new to lash extensions. They are also the go-to choice for lash technicians building foundational skills or working with clients who have fine or sparse natural lashes that require a lighter extension.

Thickness guide: 0.10 for mega volume fans; 0.15 for classic sets on fine lashes; 0.20 for standard classic sets; 0.25 for a bolder, more dramatic classic look.

Material Details

These extensions are made from high-quality PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) synthetic fibre — a cruelty-free, vegan-friendly material that is lightweight, flexible, and resistant to moisture and heat. The fibres are precision-tapered to a fine tip for a seamless, natural blend with the client's own lashes.

Application Tips

• Always isolate one natural lash before applying the extension to prevent sticking and ensure clean retention.
• Ensure lashes are thoroughly cleansed and free of oils, makeup, and residue before application.
• Apply the extension 0.5–1mm from the lash line — never directly on the skin.
• Use the appropriate thickness for the client's natural lash health: 0.15 for fine lashes, 0.20 for medium, 0.25 for strong, healthy lashes only.
• A full classic set typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
• Use a nano mister or nebuliser at the end of the appointment to cure the adhesive and reduce fumes.

Retention & Durability

With proper application and aftercare, classic lash extensions last 3–4 weeks before a fill is needed. Retention is maximised when the natural lash is clean and the adhesive bond is applied correctly. Advise clients to avoid oil-based eye products, avoid steam and excessive moisture for the first 24–48 hours, and brush lashes gently each morning with a clean spoolie.
